Merge Fields with Conditional Logic

Jump to solution

Does Drawloop have the ability/ logic to pick up the contract reference (merge field), but if that field is blank, then it uses the contract number(merge field).

Can and how does Drawloop handle the above conditional logic?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks, Charlie

Hey Charlie,

We sure do! You can use logic built into Word, Excel or PPT to conditionally show information in your documents. We have documentation and videos the main document types. Please see my links below

The syntax for a word evaluation of a blank response from salesforce data doesn't seem to conform with the examples provided.

Hey Steve,

Although our examples show using a check box the same logic could be used for blank values. I've included a screenshot of blanks below using dummy tags.

How would I conditionally display a formatted paragraph of text (or two)?

Hey Peter,

If we use our documentation as a sample you would replace the check boxes with your paragraphs of text. If you see the following example I made up below it may help

IF "<<tag>>" = "Closed Won" "True paragraph 1 text here" "False paragraph 2 text here"

As I said in my question, I'm looking for a way to insert large or multiple

paragraphs of text conditionally. How would I do that?

Hey Peter,

It shouldn't matter how large or how many paragraphs the amount of text is as long as it is inside of the quotation marks. Although it sounds like you may want to look into our newly released component group feature since I think it may actually be more of what you are looking for.

Cheers,

Ryan

I don't know how you could insert multiple paragraphs of formatted text

inside a single set of quotes in that single-line field, but the component

group feature is basically what we are looking for, thanks. Is that part of

our current license, or extra? If extra, who do we need to talk with to get

info on pricing?
