The Nintex Modernization team has launched an exciting new four-part webinar series, aiming to support and guide our customers through the process of Migrating to Nintex Workflow (formally known as Nintex Automation Cloud).

Whether you are managing the migration independently, leveraging a partner, or utilizing our Upgrade Center for support, these webinars will provide valuable insights on where to begin and how to navigate each phase of the process.

Webinar #3 Recap: Go-Live in Nintex Workflow

The third webinar focused on the topic of Going Live in Nintex Workflow. We walked through best practices and strategies for publishing your workflows to production, recommendations for notifying end-users of the switchover, and guidance on how to deactivate your workflows in your legacy environments

In the third webinar of the series, we covered the following:

  • Best practices for publishing your workflows to production in Nintex Workflow

  • Step-by-step guidance on deactivating your workflows in your legacy tenants

  • Insights from the Nintex Modernization team and industry experts

  • Live Q&A session to get your specific questions answered

The Nintex Modernization team has been working hard to share best practices and upgrade support by posting new articles in the ‘Upgrade to Nintex Workflow’ Customer Content Portal. The articles and additional references that support the topic of Go-Live in Nintex Workflow are referenced below. These provide more in-depth information on the topics discussed in the webinar – so you have everything you need to get started with your migration efforts.

Below are the questions that were answered during the live Q&A on the third webinar:

1. What will happen to de-activated legacy workflows with tasks that are in flight?

Tasks that are in flight prior to the workflow deactivation will continue to process within the legacy platform until the task completes or fails.

2. Can legacy workflows start a component workflow in Nintex Workflow and vice versa?

Component workflows in Nintex Workflow can only be started by parent workflows in Nintex Workflow and cannot be started by workflows from the legacy environment using the “Start a Workflow” action. Likewise, workflows from the legacy environment cannot be started by parent workflows in Nintex Workflow.

3. What if I need to roll back?

Having a plan B is always important when it comes to production deployment. In the event you need to roll back, and the Nintex for Office 365 workflow needs to be turned back on, this will be available with the ‘Reactivate’ workflow feature available from Nintex for Office 365. Once the legacy workflow is reactivated, the workflow in Nintex Workflow can then be paused and resumed after the incident is remediated.
