Row Replication in an Insert-Update Task's field

My DocGen Package has an Insert-Update that creates a Task. I'd like that Task's Description field to list data from multiple records related to the main object. Can row replication work for populating Fields, or will it only work for Word/Excel/PPT/PDF? Thanks!

    @kverburg  Not positive about this but you might be able to leverage Excel as Middleware.
