The Log in the history list action will show up to 255 characters in the workflow history.The approver comments length is 4000 characters. Delegation comments are 1024 characters. As such, any time a user responds to an approval request with comments, these will be stored in the workflow history details under the ‘Task History’ section and will reflect the 4,000 character limitation. However, if you add the approver comments to a “Log in the history list”, the results will show up under ‘Workflow Messages’ in your workflow history details and only show up to 255 characters.
