Steps to check Microsoft Access Database Engine:

When upgrading to Nintex Foxtrot RPA v15.1.10 from Nintex Foxtrot RPA v15.1.2 or earlier, uninstall Microsoft Access database engine 2010.

  • Nintex Foxtrot RPA fails to ‘Open Data’ of type accdb and Access 2000 mdb.
  • Data import of CSV and Excel files fail.

The installation for Nintex Foxtrot RPA v15.1.10 automatically installs Microsoft Access database engine 2016.

Important:  If you installed Nintex Foxtrot RPA v15.1.10 before uninstalling Microsoft Access database engine 2010, do the following:

  1. Uninstall Microsoft Access database engine 2010.
  2. Uninstall Microsoft Access database engine 2016.
  3. Re-install Microsoft Access database engine 2016 using this link:
    AccessDatabaseEngine.exe – 32 bit.

Additional Information

This repair is regarding registry key changes that were made in the newest release of Microsoft Office suite. Our developers had to account for the changes so this message was introduced to let users know a repair is needed and how the repair can be done on their behalf. Once the repair is done this should not be an ongoing issue.

Please verify that you do have the correct Access Database Engine installed which we utilize for data import. To do so navigate to Programs and Features. We currently use Microsoft Access database engine 2016 with version 15.1.10 so want to make sure the 2010 version isn't installed as well.
