I am working with an LDAP query and I can't get it to return results when I run the workflow.

I have set it up with the correct LDAP Path and authentication. When I do an execute on the following query it returns the expected employeeid.

(&(displayName=Diane Sharts))

When I publish the workflow with either the above hard coded or with my variable and assigning the employeeid to a variable I get nothing.

(&(displayName=[WorkflowVariableSmiley TongueerADName]))

No errors or clues as to why this isn't working. The variable I'm assigning it to is a string should it be something else?  Can someone please help!!!!

Hello Diane,

Generally the ADAccount display "Name Surname" but the vaule used in the variable is something like "domain\SAMAccountName".  So although you see Diane Batholow it actually saves contoso\DianeS or something like that.

You can try the same with (Samaccountname={ItemProperty:ADAccount}) and see if that works or add a User Profile lookup to get the name and surname.

Let me know how it goes.

Kind Regards,
