Create and display ui-only field with javascript?

I know I’ve seen this done in a few different threads. Can someone point me in the right direction? I’d like to create some fields just for the UI that I don’t need to store in the SFDC object.

    Currently the only way this is supported is to leverage another field from a sObject.  Give it a custom renderer and define as you will in Javascript.  You can reuse the same field again and again. 

    We are working on “UI only fields” but they are not available yet.

    Dang - you just can’t hide anything… 

    So as you can tell,  we’re working on it.   Documentation and builder capabilities coming.  That’s all I can say right now.
