I have several graphs on an Excel spreadsheet that I need to add to an email in a Botflow. It doesn’t look like I can copy/paste and I don’t see how to take a screen shot of only 1 graph so is there another solution?
Hello Alan,
The Bot should allow you to attach the Excel file itself or you can save the graph as a picture and then attach the picture to the email.
You can use the Bot to open the Excel sheet and show the graph, then use the OCR function to capture the graph as a picture and then save it and attach the picture in the email.
The OCR action will appear when you target the graph in Excel. The below picture is not Excel but it will work with any picture in any program.

Hi
Have you solved your question?
I’ve done something similar. Here was my approach:
- Depending on how many graphs, or how much space they take up on the screen determines if you skip to step 2 or not
- For multiple graphs, use the Select Cell action to select a cell near the graph. This will cause the presentation screen in Excel to shift so that your graph is in view
- If necessary, resize the Excel window so that your graph is in full view
- Use the Screenshot action, to take a screenshot of the entire Excel window
- Save the screenshot to some network location
- Use the Crop Image action, to crop out any necessary stuff - like the surrounding Excel image
- Save the cropped image
- Repeat Steps 2-6 for all graphs
- You can either attach the graphs as images, or, if you want to display the images themselves within the email, you can use the HTML option within your email, and reference the images saved in Step 6.
That seems logical… I will try it when I get a chance.
Thanks!
