I want to calculate a field on a Form containing Product Locations based on the selection of a series of Products.

The Products are selected in a multi value keyword field.

Example:

BMW   -     Japan

BMW   -     Germany

Ford    -     The Netherlands

Renault  -    France

When I select the Car marks:    BMW, Ford

The calculated value for Product Location should be:  Japan, Germany

There is a lookup list applicable for example:

Car Mark       Product Location

BMW              Japan

BMW              Germany

Ford                The Netherlands

Renault           France

The Idea is that when a series of products is registered, we can see what product locations are involved (and can be reported on)

We are using O365 Nintex Forms, Nintex Workflow

Did someone come across a similar requirement and provided a solution for this ?

Thanks

Jaap

Hey Jaap,

I finally found the time to write a short blog post about it:

Hope this will help you!

Hey Jaap,

is it really necessary to do this directly in the form? Why not implementing a workflow that get's the location for every brand and at the end writes it into a custom column?

Best regards,

Jan

Hi Jan, thanks for your response,

Because it's a large list to lookup against I am not sure if that is working with a workflow and performs in the cloud.

It should be than a separate workflow anyway. Do you have an example of such a type of workflow ?

Jaap

Hey Jaap,

the performance shouldn't be a problem! I just tried to build the worklfow, which is unfortunatley harder then in an On-Premise environment as the values that we see aren't the values we get when we try to work with them in the workflow. I will try to implement it on Friday and then catch up with you again ;-)

Best regards,

Jan
