Is there a way to add Groups to when creating a Connection?

I am trying to Add/Edit a connection in the Current Owners and Users with access fields in the Edit Connection window, but it appears i can only add users?  I really want to add groups.  Any ideas?

    @markpisc connections are user specific. You can add a service account, but the connection must be tied to an individual not a group so that it can track who is doing what or using that connection.
