Hi Everyone,

Nintex has announced that the O365 workflows will be deprecated soon. i.e., it will not be available for new tenants from April 2024 and will no longer be supported by April 2026. I just want to double check if I have the time till 2026 April to redevelop my O365 workflows in Cloud.

Hi @Mittu

Essentially, no one is able to answer you whether there is sufficient time to convert or upgrade your O365 workflow to NAC workflow without knowing the full picture.

You will need to evaluate that based on several factors

  • How many O365 workflows are being used currently?
  • How many new O365 workflows are being planned or developed for the next 6-12 months?
  • What are the complexity of the O365 workflows?
Perhaps you could use the number of actions in the workflow as a guide.
    Under 20 actions - Easy
20-50 action - not that complex
    50-100 actions - complex
    100-200 actions - very complex
200+ actions - very, very complex
  • How many O365 developers are available?
How many of those O365 developers are trained on NAC?
How many of those O365 developers have experience with O365 conversion to NAC?

In the initial first 2-3 months (your developer are not experience with O365 to NAC conversion)
Estimate 2 weeks per O365 workflow (50-100 actions) for 1 developer.
Estimate 4 weeks per O365 workflow (200+ actions) for 1 developer.

Adjust the estimate as your O365 developers become more proficient with O365 to NAC conversion

Hi @Mittu

Also check Nintex U for training courses.

Hi @Garrett, thank you for this detailed response. This helps to design my plan of action. I just wanted to know if the workflows on O365 will work till April 2026 as the workflows that I am developing now are in NAC.

The O365 WF on my tenant do not exceed 100 actions.

Thanks,

Susmitha

Hi @Mittu

  1. Nintex Workflow for O365 is powered by the SharePoint 2013 workflow Engine
Microsoft has announce that the SharePoint 2013 workflows will be removed and retired.

Microsoft announced that SharePoint 2013 workflows will be turned off for new tenants as of 1 April 2024, and will be removed from existing tenants and fully retired as of 1 April 2026.

  1. According to the above statement, your O365 workflow should work until end March 2026 (not April 2026) as the SharePoint 2013 workflows will be fully retired by 1st April 2026

I just wanted to know if the workflows on O365 will work till April 2026

  1. You should start your O365 migration ASAP.
