Hi community,

I wanted to test an older version of K2 Five (5.5/5.6) integrated with SharePoint online and I found out that adding "legacy" app to App Catalog doesn't work in the newly created tenant, because these add-ons are already on their way out, according to the article SharePoint Add-In retirement in Microsoft 365.

Am I overlooking something, some setting that would allow me to still deploy this, or am I just out of luck, the old legacy app will no longer test?

If I want to test migrating from the legacy app to the new SPFx in the future, do I need to find any old tenant created before 11/2024? By the way, is there any news on how this can be done?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Hi,

I have the same issue. We have a new tenant in GCCH and we cannot add K2 app in the App Catalog. Do you have a solution for this problem?

Thank you.

Hi, I've already given up. I think this has no other solution than to deploy a new K2 app based on SPFx, and K2 5.8 to the new tenant.
I don't think anyone will budge with Microsoft to allow anything else in this. Here we have no choice but to wait for Nintex to release some tool that somehow allows to convert the solution associated with the legacy app to the new SPFx app.

Is this perhaps the tool that you are looking for?

I don’t need to use K2 for SharePoint from SharePoint Online.

I use K2 Five On-Prem. We just want to be able to add documents to SharePoint Online site collection.

Do I have to do the migration?

Thank you.

Hello,
If you are using K2 Five On-Prem and want to connect SharePoint Online; you will want to be on the latest K2 5.8 version and use the SPFX app model to integrate with SharePoint Online; as Microsoft is deprecating the legacy SharePoint apps add-ins model.  This will surface the SharePoint Online SmartObjects that you can use to upload document to SharePoint Online.

You will want to “Install the Nintex Automation for SharePoint App” from below (not the legacy one):

Is this available in GCCH?

Thank you.

Hello,

I am not familiar with GCCH.  But the SPFX is a file “nintex-automation.sppkg” that you would download locally to your machine.  Then you would upload this file to the Apps store for your SharePoint Online tenant.  The activation of the app to the desired SharePoint Online site collection would be done through the K2 Management site as long as there is connectivity from the K2 server to the SharePoint Online sites.

Thank you.
