Code Fix: After upgrading to K2 Platform Classic (5.4), errors are logged in the Host Server log file related to SharePoint
After upgrading to K2 Platform Classic (5.4) from K2 Five (5.3) and installing the new Identity Service, errors are logged in the Host Server log file related to SharePoint.
The following error or similar errors are logged in the Host Server log file: “"Error","General","0","ErrorMessage","1","0 SharePointRoleProvider.GetGroups: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: An unexpected failure was encountered when contacting SharePoint to get information from the group provider App Catalog: Group cannot be found. ---> System.Exception: Group cannot be found.”.
The fix is available in the following K2 versions:
|K2 4.7 December 2019 Cumulative Update||K2 Five (5.0) December 2019 Cumulative Update||K2 Five (5.1) November 2018 Cumulative Update||K2 Five (5.2) May 2019 Cumulative Update||K2 Five (5.3) April 2020 Cumulative Update||K2 Platform Classic(5.4)|

- Ensure you have the correct K2 version and/or Cumulative Update installed. See KB001893 to see what Fix Pack level you have installed.
- Download the latest Fix Pack using the links in the table above for the version you require.
- Install the Fix Pack to apply the fix.
Note that these errors are not introduced after the upgrade. These existed on earlier versions of K2 as well with the legacy Identity Service. This means that some of the errors will still be logged in the Host Server log file as this is expected. Information messages will also now be logged in the Host Server log file.
