It’s time for another release for Nintex Automation K2! You may remember last year we renamed the product to “Nintex Automation” and you’ll see that change in many of our sites including documentation and training, but you may notice a little sneaky bit coming back to the product name! Over time you’ll see us adding back in the K2, but don’t worry, it’s the same product you’ve known throughout the years by its various names.
This year’s release (5.8) has one amazing, massive, beast of a feature that we can’t wait for you to get your hands on. Translations and localization is now native in K2:
- Full localization of Designer, Workspace and Management into Arabic, French, German and Spanish languages. This lets your designers, administrators, and end users work in their native language. With over 77,000 words and phrases in the K2 platform, this nearly 10 month project with multiple teams is finally ready for you.
- And, with the localization work, we’ve added ability for your SmartForms to be displayed in multiple languages with one form. Since the Management and Workspace sites are built with SmartForms, we drank our own champagne and used the translation management features to import/export translated values, and used them as perfect test cases to ensure performance via language caching was up to par. We’ve got a long list of features we’ll keep adding to translation capabilities in K2 and bring this to K2 Cloud next year, but you can start translating your existing or new SmartForms with 5.8.
In addition to the localization and translation features, we’ve got some additional updates to enhance your experience:
- Enhancements to SharePoint including new permission methods, and the ability to migrate your existing add-in based solutions to Microsoft’s SPFx framework. This update lets us remain supported with Microsoft’s changes to SharePoint Online for years to come.
- Design time versioning for your workflow drafts, allowing you to save snapshots, download versions to compare, and roll back by editing an older version.
- Always stability and security fixes, including all fixes released since 5.7. We will continue to release fixes weekly as necessary throughout the standard support window.
- And more!
For more information about any of these features, check out the release notes for links to further documentation.
