Our product team have been hard at work, and what a release Nintex Workflow Cloud 120 was! Amongst the new capabilities as part of this epic release; a new action called Run DocGen Package has been added to the toolkit. This action is an incredible addition to provide greater value to you if you are using Salesforce along with Nintex Workflow Cloud and Nintex Drawloop DocGen.
So what exactly is Nintex Drawloop DocGen for Salesforce? It's essentially what the name says; generating a document in Salesforce. I'll take that one step further; generating a dynamic document in Salesforce using your data.
Think of all the times you have spent hours collating your data from Salesforce and putting together a document when you'd rather be doing something else. I'll throw some examples at you, in case you'd rather forget those hours lost;
-
Sending a prospect a quote.
-
Analysing the health of a customer account using Salesforce reports.
-
Putting together legal terms and conditions for negotiation and review.
-
Generating customer profiles with data you already have in Salesforce.
I could keep adding more examples to this list, but essentially, any document you need to create from information that's in Salesforce can be generated within seconds rather than however long it takes you to manually create documents you are putting together today.
Keep in mind, this capability is available as a standalone powerhouse within Salesforce. But the action I'm talking about today takes this standalone capability one step further and automates the generation of documentation within your processes. Imagine being able to have conversations with your prospects rather than being tied to your desk and doing Salesforce admin... sounds pretty good, right? Well see it in action, and see how you can save yourself some time.
Now that you're a little more familiar with the concept of document generation in Salesforce, let's uncover why you should use this capability and automate it.
-
Focus on what's important to you; selling.
Salespeople, I'm looking at you. This is an absolute game-changer for anyone who wants to generate dynamic documents from Salesforce. Think about how much more efficient you could be by interacting with customers rather than dealing with the administrative tasks associated with closing a sale; such as providing proposals or even legal documentation to your prospects. When you're focusing on what actually matters to achieving your goals as a seller, not only are you more aligned to achieving your quota, but you also provide a better customer experience.
-
Improve your customer relationships.
Agility is incredibly important to customer relationships, whether they are prospects or existing customers. Providing that important piece of documentation, to either prove your services to a customer or accelerating a prospect's decision-making process, is imperative to the outcomes of your customer relationships. Blending the amazing capabilities of automation and document generation, you are able to generate dynamic documentation based on the context of a process; allowing you to provide important information without even needing to access Salesforce.
-
Avoid costly mistakes.
Provide accurate information all the time. Mistakes happen, especially when we are stuck in routine tasks like copying-and-pasting information into a document; think of all those times you've referred to the outdated templates, or pasted the wrong information in the wrong place. The amount of risk associated with providing inaccurate information is sometimes hard to quantify before it happens - but let's make sure this doesn't happen to you. Bringing together the power of automation, by keeping your Salesforce data up to date in line with a process, and then generating a piece of documentation, ensures that both your Salesforce data and the information you are providing is accurate, every step of the way.
If this sounds like a perfect world to you, and you'd like to explore this capability a little bit more, there are a few different approaches;

Not yet satisfied, and have a few more questions? Here are some questions I've heard about using Nintex Workflow Cloud and Nintex Drawloop DocGen together;
-
Do I need Salesforce in order to generate documents as part of a sales process?
While our Run DocGen Package action is a unique capability for organisations using both Nintex Workflow Cloud and Salesforce; there is a Generate Document action that's available in Nintex Workflow Cloud without the need for Salesforce. This action allows you to generate dynamic documentation using information collected throughout the process, as well as any system or service you have integrated as part of your automated process.
-
I am familiar with the Generate Document action in Nintex Workflow Cloud, why would I use the Run DocGen Package instead?
Nintex Drawloop DocGen for Salesforce is a very rich capability, and you can extend the power of your Salesforce data a lot easier using this as opposed to the Generate Document action alone. While it's true you can use query data from Salesforce within Nintex Workflow Cloud, being able to compile documentation from multiple objects is faster and less reliant on multiple steps within your workflow process. The ability to use Salesforce reports to create dynamic graphs within your documents is also an amazing capability unique to Nintex Drawloop DocGen.

What are the licensing implications for using both Nintex Workflow Cloud and Nintex Drawloop DocGen?
If you're unsure about your current entitlements as a Nintex customer, I recommend you reach out to your Account Manager to discuss what you currently have and where you'd like to be. They are also able to organise a live demonstration with a technical resource if required. If you're unsure who you're Account Manager is, feel free to get in touch with us.
