Error "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object." in K2 Studio/K2 for Visual Studio

When opening a workflow (*.kprx file) using K2 Studio or K2 for Visual Studio, the following error appears:

This issue is caused by missing Environment Fields that were automatically configured during the installation of K2.

To resolve this issue, please add back all the missing Environment Fields and specify the appropriate values here:

K2 Workspace > Management Console > [K2 Server] > Environment Library > Templates > Default Template > Environments > [Default Environment].
