Due to an upgrade project we would like to prevent K2 from sending mails to the users. We have setup a local smtp server on the windows server 2012 hosting K2.

When running through the Setup manager we are getting an error (Connection attempt to the smtp server failed) during SMTP Settings.

The local smtp server is working correctly. We have test it by sending mail from powershell.

Has anyone succeeded K2 Setup with a local smtp server?

Or how do you handle outgoing mails during an upgrade?

Hi,

From what I gather, the SMTP setup from the K2 blackpearl Setup Manager does not work all the time. You can just proceed ahead when you arrive at the screen. After the reconfiguration, launch ConnectionEditor.exe located in [Program FIles]K2 blackpearlHost ServerBin, and edit your SMTP connection string. From there, you can specify additional connection settings, Once you have done that, save the changes, restart your K2 blackpearl service, and check if your email is working.
