Hi everyone,

I had a case today, an user had the attached error message. I understand that it displays when a task is expired but when i take a look at the process status the value was "Open", how did the process get this status? what did the user do to change this value?

Thank you!

Is this task perhaps assigned to a group or more than one user?

If so, it could be that another user had "opened" the item before this user did; if so, it will be allocated to the first user that had opened the item and any other users will see this error.

This can be resolved by releasing this item so that it is "available" again as per:

http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2blackpearl/UserGuide/4.7/default.htm#K2_Management_Site/User_Management/TaskList.htm

Or unchecking this "Allocate worklist item on open" option; if the change in behavior meets your business need:

https://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2appit/UserGuide/1.5/default.htm#Thin_Client_Wizards/User_Task_Wizards/SmartForms_Task/SmartForms_Task.htm?Highlight="allocate%20worklist%20item"

Such that it would stay open regardless of who opens it first.

You can also catch these messages and display more user friendly errors if you wish to keep the "allocate" functionality:

Hi, thanks for answer this info helps me to understand better.
In this workflow the user task use a security group but just with one user into it, so I’m not sure what happened.
