Create/Edit record update date field value to TODAY.

The problem is probably trivial, I want to populate a field on Opportunity object with value “Today”. I used the formula “TODAY()” but does not do anything. Can you please let me know how to resolve this issue. Thanks in advance.
P.S “Run at the beginning” checkbox is unchecked.

​@mbutt-bait  - You should be able to use the Today tag from the Field Tagger.  <<Today>>

 

This will update the Date field with todays date.
