Requesting workflow initiated datetime

I've been working on a NWC form and workflow this week that has lots of submissions. We found an issue where we run into queing for the actions to complete with lots of submissions.We wanted to capture the datetime the form was submitted but are not able to. The datetime for a when a workflow is initiated is not available in the workflow designer. Consider this: if I have a form which has a date control for date and time called 'formdate'.That has a default value of datenow(). This records the datetime when the form is opened.I cannot use a form rule or submit rule to update this control on submit. In the workflow designer when I insert a variable I have the 'formdate' in the 'start event' variable category. 'Context' gives current date/time and as well as workflow instance ID, etc.'Start event context' supplies workflow initiator (if an authenticated form). As actions can be delayed (ie use of context: current datetime on an action) it would be great to have the datetime for when the

Nintex Xtensions API Key issue

Hi All,I am trying to get weather and location(for geotagging) details in Nintex workflow cloud form using AccuWeather Suite connector which is available under nintex Gallery(https://gallery.nintex.com/ ) I have registered in https://developer.accuweather.com/ using my personal email id and received an API key.Please see the screenshots for connection which i created with my registered API KeyXtension ConfigurationNWC - I am trying to get the Region List in my workflow When i publish and test the workflow i am getting the following error in my workflow instances for "Unauthorized {"fault":{"faultstring":"Failed to resolve API Key variable request.queryparam.apikey","detail":{"errorcode":"steps.oauth.v2.FailedToResolveAPIKey"}}} I registered with my personal email id and got an API Key but for running the workflow i am using my official id (officialname@officename.net) . could this be a problem?Anyone used this xtension earlier? Please let me know if i missed any configuraiton as

workflow - form already exists, create a new doc, add a value to an existing list lookup option

Nintex form named ABC contains a list lookup field named Category (contains 6 options), using a nintex workflow, create a new ABC document, adding the Category value (one of the 6 options) from another list to the Category field...the value added displays in the list, but will NOT display in the form.

Capturing errors in NWC SQL Execute a query action

We have a NWC workflow with a SQL execute a query action that does an insert query to an on-prem SQL database based on details captured in the start form. When we had a network issue which caused the action and the workflow to fail with no ability to gracefully handle the error. In this case we lost the data submitted by the user in the start form. This is the error we see in the instance information.In the interim we are looking at a backup action to also capture the data into a sharepoint list. What would be good is similar to the nintex sharepoint on-prem sql action is the ability to optionally capture errors and then capture that an error had occured into a boolean variable. That way I can build some better logic into the workflow to ensure that information is not lost and the workflow can conclude more gracefully. In my scenario above I would want to only add an item into the sharepoint list when the SQL action timesout. I've created a new uservoice for this idea if you would like

Save variables from each instance in spreadsheet

We are a publishing company and I would like to find an instance ID through searching a spreadsheet for saved variables, such as a book title or author name, etc. Is there a way to set up each instance to insert a new row in a spreadsheet or table document and populate data from the workflow? NWC Start form user context and data lookup control

With nintex workflow cloud start forms I've been testing with the new data lookup control and seem to be missing something. I have an authenticated NWC start form.I want to take the email address of the authenticated form user context to pass in as a filter parameter.My data source I'm testing with is Azure AD - query userTrying a couple of different ways.When I try to create a variable and set the value there is a context tab but nothing listed. (There are also Functions and Form tabs)I've also tried with an Email control and Text - Short control to set the default value. It shows a context tab but no items listed on the context tab to select from. Any ideas?Do other see anything on the context tabs in their tennacies? @robbiemunro Could you shed some light on this one?

In preparation for return to work at Level 3, we have developed a sign-in register for external visitors using their own devices (i.e. QR code scanning) which then opens a NWC form for them to sign in. The form data is then saved to a SharePoint online list. This works perfectly, but now I've been asked for additional capability for the external user to be able to sign out when they leave our sites and I'm not sure how to achieve this given that the form data is saved in SharePoint, which external users can't access (via their own devices) to then update the form and sign out. Help please! I'm very new to NWC so any help appreciated :-) Thanks!

Form rule not updating value for a hidden control

If I have a text control that is hidden when I use a form rule to update the value the control is not updated. It works if I leave the control visible. This is also the same if the control is visible but is in a group that is marked as hidden. I have a variable that is populated with the function getQueryStringParameter I have the following form rule: When a variable is filled then set a group to visible else set textcontrol value to newGuidAsString() I thought a rule would be able to update a control value even if the control is hidden?

Audit Trail Reporting - CLOUD

I'm new to Nintex and we're doing requirements for workflows. One of the requirements is regarding the audit trail. For Nintex Cloud does Nintex store the audit trail or does the front end tool need to collect and store that data from Nintex? AND if Nintex does: 1) for how long and 2) how to pull the data?

Hi All, I am trying to show the location and weather details in my Nintex Cloud Form. so that user can tag their work location and also get the current weather for the choosen locaiton. I know that we can use GeoLocation control for enabling the Map with Google API key . But I am looking for Bing Map functionality to implement this . Hello all! I'm trying to use the Box action: "Get Folder Contents."I have 700 files in the folder The collection count (using Count Item in Collection) is only 200. Is this limitation documented somewhere? Is there a way to interate through to get them all (possibly by buiding mutiple collections)? Thank you.

Manipulating Date/Time to be used as workflow exit

I thought I'd share something I recently did to bolster the resiliency of an existing scheduled WF. I have a WF that runs every hour and should exit at '57 minutes past the hour' to make sure it doesnt interfere wiht the next run. This was being accomplished by setting a var to the current time and then adding 57 minutes to it. Unfortunately our recent sharepoint connector stability issues have caused the scheduled job to error out a couple of times a day. If I manually re-launch the WF 27 minutes into the hour, then the exit time gets set incorrectly and will interfere with the next scheduled job that starts on the hour. This Regex can be used to modify an existing var that contains a Nintex formatted "Current date and time" and replaces the minutes with a value of your choice. In my case, I'm replacing the minutes value with '57' so that no matter what time the WF is launched, it will always exit at 57 minutes past the hour. You can use this structure to modify other parts

Find where variables are used in workflow

Hi all, I accidentally entered a collection variable when I meant to enter a string in several workflow actions. The collection variable now says it is being used by 4 workflow actions, but my workflow is very large and I can't find the actions that are using the incorrect variable. Is there a way to highlight all the actions where the incorrect variable is used, or do I just have to dig through my workflow until I find it? Thanks!

Generate unique instance ID

Hey Nintex Community, I've gotten a few requests to implement a unique per-instance ID so that individual approvals don't get confused. I found this solution for Sharepoint and tried to implement it in NWC, but the "InstanceID" variable I stored just output "fn-FormatDate({Common:CurrentDate},yyyy)-{ItemProperty:ID}" as a string rather than 2020-001 or however it's supposed to work. Screenshot of end result attached. How do I adapt this for the Cloud? Thanks :)

NWC Document Generation - OneDrive for Business

We have been trying to work with Document Generation insided Workflow Cloud. With this we are trying to grab templates from employees personal One Drive for Business areas and put files into employees personal One Drive for Business areas. With this we have attempted multiple ways (listed below) to do this with no results. Is there anyone in the community that are doing this that can give some insight. 1) Build a OneDrive for Business connector to our top level site collection <tenant>-my.sharepoint.com - Works to build connector but cant get to individual user personals when writing out paths to a template or output file when in Document Generation action.2) Build a OneDrive for Business connector to employee personal <tenant>-my.sharepoint.com/personal/<user> - Get connector can't be built error when signing in as the Domain Admin or the user creds to access. (both are site collection admins)

Add variable to attachment file name

Hey there,I am wondering if there is a way to add variable to the attachment file name before storing the file in a SharePoint online list?The scenario I have is we have a photo competition and I want add the title value to the attachment name to make it easier for our communications team to link the photo to the specific title.I've attached my screenshot to give a reference of what I am trying to achieve. I am hoping I can achieve something like "Title - file name.jpeg". This will make linking that file name to the title all that much easier. Definitely would appreciate the help on this team.

Get Data from Azure SQL based on Login details

Hi, We are planning to develop a form that is being used by over a 10k people for a review process. As we have large set of data (close to 20K records) in Azure SQL DB. May i know if it is possible to store the data from Nintex cloud form to Azure SQL and also get data from Azure SQL DB to the forms based on login user. We are also having Nintex Office 365 but it seems Nintex cloud is a better option to acheive this requirement? Thanks

Send submitters a regular digest of pending instances

Hey NWC Forums, A few people have mentioned that they tend to forget about items they've submitted while they're in process, which sometimes leads to a frantic rush to get a given item approved by the deadline. I have regular reminders set up for approvers, but if someone has forgotten to check their Updates folder for the Nintex email, all the reminders in the world won't help. What I'd like to do is send a daily digest to each submitter of items they've submitted that are still in process. That way they can get ahead of time-sensitive requests and bring them to the approver's attention. Let me know if there's a way to do this! Thanks.
