Data lookup control / Azure AD - email different to username - issue with assigned tasks

We have had an issue with our form and workflow where the email address for a user does not match their username. This is not a data quality issue, there is a valid reason why the primary SMTP/email address is different from their email address. I have a form with a data lookup control with an Azure Active Directory data source.This only returns the email address of the user.We use this to assign a task (form based) to the user.The user receives an error that they cannot access the form. So as an example the email is jadoe@domain.com The username is jdoe@domain.com The task is assigned to jadoe@domain.com, however the user assigned the particpant role is against their username of jdoe@domain.com. And when they log in to NWC they see no assigned tasks in the mytasks dashboard. So the tasks actually need to be assigned to the username of the user not their email address when using Azure AD. I can put in a workaround of 'get user detail' Azure AD action to query for the username and store

NWC data lookup with API

Hi all,   I'm looking for some guidance on a request I am trying to build out.  I am building out a complex approval process in which the end user has to enter 3 fields into a form and then the customer information would populate(13 additional fields used for validation).  Right now I have tested using a bot to go out to our core system and retrieve the cusomter data.  This then emails the end user with that information for them to proceed.  This is unacceptable to them.  What they want is once the 3 data fields are entered, a call to core would occur and retrive the information in order for them to continue with the process.  I see the data lookup control requires an HTTPS for an API call.  Right now we are using http and working on converting our API to HTTPS.  My question is, once we get the API to HTTPS, how will the form perform?  Will it be similar to the SharePoint data lookup where each field is a drop down?   My second question is, is there a way to program a workflow to auto

NWC - downloading Salesforce files

The 'Get file from record' works great with attachments but not files. Is it possible to get a file from Salesforce Files?   I used Salesforce Rest API call to get the download url ... However, I am not sure how I can convert this to a file to then send to Box.  Thank you,

NWC - Use form tool to enter a variable amount of an object/record

For intance, if a user wanted to enter 4 persons, and another person wanted to enter 6 persons, each with a name, phone number, and email address, are there form controls that would allow that?    Ideally I would like the inputs for each person to be entered to show up all at once. So if the user indicates they have 4 persons to enter, they will see 4 name text boxes, 4 phone number boxes, etc. Then I would like to store those values in some sort of collection and have the records created in Salesforceas part of a workflow. How much of this, if any is possible?

OneDrive for Business start event - inconsistent new file detection

Hi all. Currently doing a Nintex trial, I have a NWC workflow set to start on a new file in OneDrive for Business, check some details, then start an RPA botflow. I've been testing this workflow for the past few weeks and most of the time it runs perfectly when the files land (1-3 times per day), but it intermittently fails to detect the new file in ODfB and doesn't run. E.g. I decided to grab some additional details from the files to push through to the final SharePoint Online list, so went back to the start of the month and re-added all the files (in batches of 5-10) for about 35 runs in total. They all ran perfectly except for 3 (in a row) that weren't detected.Since then, it's been detecting the new files maybe 80% of the time. Assuming this isn't standard behaviour, does anyone have any suggestions that might help it to run more consistently?The files arrive as email attachments, and I'm using Power Automate to monitor the O365 mailbox and save them to ODfB for Nintex to pick them

Bad Gateway - Salesforce Gov Cloud

 @burked, do you or your team have any experience with Salesforce Gov Cloud? Our Public Sector Salesforce lives inside a special tenant where only US people have access to the servers, backups, etc. It still does not work despite having spent countless hours trying to get it to work. I have noticed that the NWC workflow, Public Sector – Opportunity Sync often fails to run, or when it does run, it fails. How long should it take for it to listen and hear a modification? Why is it that when I go into the start action in this workflow, it often says, bad gateway, does not let me change the table, and frequently loses the start conditions altogether? When I don’t get bad gateway, Once again the 2 conditions I have added are gone. Also note that the object name is greyed out. I cannot change it.

Inject data into file variable

In Workflow Cloud I'm able to get some JSON content from a web service call.  This allows me to iterate over the JSON and pull out data.  I can actually get the data into a text variable formatted as CSV.  Next, I'd like to save this CSV data to OneDrive, Box, etc... but first I need to get the data into a file variable. Is there a way to save the contents of a text variable into a file variable?  Thanks for your help.

Exception handling in NIntex cloud

Hello, Could you please advise how to handle exceptions in Nintex cloud workflow?   For example, we would like to get user details from Azure AD based on email entered by user, if the email is incorrect then we get the error in workflow but how we could capture and do If/else based on success or failure so that we could execute other functionality (Send an email to admin if there is an error).   Thanks. Best practices of Nintex Cloud

Hello, I have found the best practices for O365 Nintex workflow https://community.nintex.com/t5/Best-Practices/Nintex-Workflow-Office-365-Best-Practices/ta-p/85923. Is this applicable to Nintex cloud as well?  Are there any other things we should consider before we use Nintex Cloud?  How can we measure the size of the workflow in Nintex cloud?  Thanks,Devendra

Save as Draft Button Functionality - NWC

Hi, I wanted to have 2 buttons in my form . (Save as Draft , Submit) Is this possible in Nintex workflow cloud form?  what is the best way to create 'Save as Draft' state where a form data can be saved to sharepoint online list without triggering a workflow and without any mandatory validations. ? ThanksMeena R

Conditionally display controls in nintex mobile?

Is it possible to conditionally display a start form control in nintex mobile? I have a NWC start form with a geolocation control.I want to modify the control visible property to be conditional that the form is being loaded in nintex mobile rather tha in a web browser.I had a look through the functions but cannot see a 'isNintexMobile' ('isMobileApp') similar function or context.Also I checked out form rules but could not see a way to do it via that method either.

error when creating a Salesforce Case

We are getting the following error when a workflow is trying to Create a Case in Salesforce.  None of use can tell what field is causing the issues.  Is there any way to determine more details about this error from the Nintex or SF side? {"error":"request id: 5eb46e4be4b09e02916b49b1 response code: 400, message: We can't save this record because the “Case Status” process failed. Give your Salesforce admin these details. An error occurred when executing a flow interview. Er[TRUNCATED]

Intermittent files losing file extension between Form upload and Box movefile

I have a WFC WF that contains a form where a user can upload a .docx or .zip file which is used within the WF.   The uploaded file is copied to a box folder for long-term storage, and then a link to that file is added to another form accessed by an 'approver' later in the workflow.  This process has been working properly for about 4 months.   About 4-5 weeks ago I began getting reports of people not being able to access the link on the approval form.   After investigating further I realized that the file extension was getting dropped somewhere within the workflow.  Since the document had no file extension, the user's desktop didnt know how to open it.   Renaming the file with .zip or .docx restores the functionality.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve or even troubleshoot this issue?  I am not interacting with the filename at all within the WF, the first time that the file is referenced is in the Box store a file method, and the file variable is selected from the dropd

Requesting workflow initiated datetime

I've been working on a NWC form and workflow this week that has lots of submissions. We found an issue where we run into queing for the actions to complete with lots of submissions.We wanted to capture the datetime the form was submitted but are not able to. The datetime for a when a workflow is initiated is not available in the workflow designer. Consider this: if I have a form which has a date control for date and time called 'formdate'.That has a default value of datenow(). This records the datetime when the form is opened.I cannot use a form rule or submit rule to update this control on submit. In the workflow designer when I insert a variable I have the 'formdate' in the 'start event' variable category. 'Context' gives current date/time and as well as workflow instance ID, etc.'Start event context' supplies workflow initiator (if  an authenticated form). As actions can be delayed (ie use of context: current datetime on an action) it would be great to have the datetime for when the

Nintex Xtensions API Key issue

Hi All,I am trying to get weather and location(for geotagging) details in Nintex workflow cloud form using  AccuWeather Suite connector which is available under nintex Gallery(https://gallery.nintex.com/ ) I have registered in https://developer.accuweather.com/  using my personal email id and received an API key.Please see the screenshots for connection which i created with my registered API KeyXtension ConfigurationNWC - I am trying to get the Region List in my workflow  When i publish and test the workflow i am getting the following error in my workflow instances for "Unauthorized {"fault":{"faultstring":"Failed to resolve API Key variable request.queryparam.apikey","detail":{"errorcode":"steps.oauth.v2.FailedToResolveAPIKey"}}} I registered with  my personal email id  and got an API Key but for running the workflow i am using my official id (officialname@officename.net) . could this be a problem?Anyone used this xtension earlier?  Please let me know if i missed any configuraiton as

workflow - form already exists, create a new doc, add a value to an existing list lookup option

Nintex form named ABC contains a list lookup field named Category (contains 6 options), using a nintex workflow, create a new ABC document, adding the Category value (one of the 6 options) from another list to the Category field...the value added displays in the list, but will NOT display in the form.

Capturing errors in NWC SQL Execute a query action

We have a NWC workflow with a SQL execute a query action that does an insert query to an on-prem SQL database based on details captured in the start form. When we had a network issue which caused the action and the workflow to fail with no ability to gracefully handle the error. In this case we lost the data submitted by the user in the start form. This is the error we see in the instance information.In the interim we are looking at a backup action to also capture the data into a sharepoint list. What would be good is similar to the nintex sharepoint on-prem sql action is the ability to optionally capture errors and then capture that an error had occured into a boolean variable. That way I can build some better logic into the workflow to ensure that information is not lost and the workflow can conclude more gracefully. In my scenario above I would want to only add an item into the sharepoint list when the SQL action timesout. I've created a new uservoice for this idea if you would like

Save variables from each instance in spreadsheet

We are a publishing company and I would like to find an instance ID through searching a spreadsheet for saved variables, such as a book title or author name, etc.    Is there a way to set up each instance to insert a new row in a spreadsheet or table document and populate data from the workflow?   Thank you!

NWC Start form user context and data lookup control

With nintex workflow cloud start forms I've been testing with the new data lookup control and seem to be missing something. I have an authenticated NWC start form.I want to take the email address of the authenticated form user context to pass in as a filter parameter.My data source I'm testing with is Azure AD - query userTrying a couple of different ways.When I try to create a variable and set the value there is a context tab but nothing listed. (There are also Functions and Form tabs)I've also tried with an Email control and Text - Short control to set the default value. It shows a context tab but no items listed on the context tab to select from. Any ideas?Do other see anything on the context tabs in their tennacies? @robbiemunro Could you shed some light on this one?

Sign In/Sign Out Register using NWC & SharePoint

In preparation for return to work at Level 3, we have developed a sign-in register for external visitors using their own devices (i.e. QR code scanning) which then opens a NWC form for them to sign in.  The form data is then saved to a SharePoint online list.  This works perfectly, but now I've been asked for additional capability for the external user to be able to sign out when they leave our sites and I'm not sure how to achieve this given that the form data is saved in SharePoint, which external users can't access (via their own devices) to then update the form and sign out.  Help please! I'm very new to NWC so any help appreciated :-) Thanks!
