Can anyone recommend a good file management system that isn't SharePoint? Looking for something with extensive features for creating and restricting access and intranet options.

@Ash22 while there are not really many "intranet options" that are quite the same as SharePoint, there are a plethora of good file management systems that are not SharePoint. I highly recommend Box or Google Drive. Google will also have access to the larger suite of Google services, but Box is a strong alternative with an easy to use interface, and great sharing options.
