ISSUE

When using merge fields in a Salesforce email template, these fields are empty in the final output file.

RESOLUTION

This is by design.

As a workaround, it is possible to create a template with tags connected with Drawloop. This would be done by implementing the Word document to become the email template. The email body would be created just like a normal email within Word and tagging would be done just through the normal tagging process. In the email delivery option, you will want to make the word document the email template chosen.
