I’ve got a very simple workflow that sets a couple of values and sends an email or 2.  While working on a modification, i’ve disabled the send email steps to avoid confusion.  WF is saved and published but the emails continue to be sent.  I’ve even changed the WF so that it can only launch manually yet it’s still firing.   Any ideas ?  I’m baffled at this behavior.

….this is weird…..not sure how 2 workflows with same name were in place but they were.  So i’m editing the workflow but the “ghost” one is still there an running .  I removed one and everything is back to normal….but this is very strange

Hi @MikeBrunson1

Likely what you’re seeing is previously running instances of the workflow.  When a workflow is published the prior running instances continue to run using the previous workflow definition until they complete or error out.

The second post you shared is normal.  The workflow definition creates a new workflow association on the list for each version of the workflow published and sets the previous workflow association to no new instances in this page.
