Error connecting to the workflow manager.

I've just started the workflow designer and got this error message in a red highlighted banner on the top of the workspace:  Error connecting to the workflow manager.

 

Would it be possible that because it's in a private channel, sharepoint site?

 

Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi @julesnye,

Is your browser in incognito mode?
Are you able to connect to the workflow manager with SharePoint designer?

no just normal mode.

I don't have access to SharePoint designer anymore, unfortunately.

I think it doesn't work in private channel sites, as just created a new private channel and went to the site added the Nintex workflow for office...went back to the channel library and tried to create a workflow which it allows but then I get the error as well at the top of the workspace.
