Exchange Online: Access denied when creating an Attachment

Issue

You may face the following issue when trying to execute the Create method for the Exchange Online Attachment SmartObject.

 

Error Code

Service: Exchange Online Service Guid: [GUID] Severity: Error Error Message: Access is denied. Check credentials and try again., The process failed to get the correct properties. InnerException Message:

 

Resolution

This is expected behavior. For example, if user A creates an appointment and user B tries to add an attachment to that appointment, Exchange does not allow User B to do so because User B does not have edit rights on the calendar belonging to User A (who created the appointment).

 

The solution is to navigate to the Outlook calendar sharing settings and share the calendar (with edit rights) from User A with User B and everything will work as expected.
