Introduction
KB000370 updates all K2 blackpearl 0807 version 4.8210.1.x and 4.8210.2.0 installations with latest product patches and hotfixes, as detailed below. The installer will update K2 blackpearl 0807 32-bit and 64-bit installations.
Issues Resolved
The following issues have been fixed and are contained within this update:
- KB000318 - Hotfix: Out of Memory
- KB000346 - Hotfix: Status not changing from available to open
- KB000347 - Hotfix: Environment Context Menu
- KB000348 - Hotfix: K2 Designer for Visio Drag and Drop functionality from the K2 Object Browser not working
- KB000349 - Hotfix: K2 Role Cache
- KB000356 - Hotfix: A DELETE query using SQL-like syntax with the K2 ADO.NET provider returns an error
- KB000357 - Hotfix: Event Integration deployment package only deploys using the original environment settings
- KB000358 - Hotfix: Issues with Activity's expected duration setting
- KB000359 - Hotfix: Report error occurs when using an empty DateTime data field
- KB000361 - Hotfix: Host server stops responding (hangs) and needs to be restarted regularly
- KB000362 - Hotfix: K2 Worklist item can be opened via the Outlook mail notification even though all slots have been allocated
- KB000363 - Hotfix: Error when adding a new K2 Worklist filter within the K2 Worklist webpart on a SharePoint collaboration site
- KB000364 - Hotfix: When using the K2 ADO.NET provider and inserting a NULL/Empty string, the NULL value does not persist in the SmartBox table
- KB000365 - Hotfix: Spelling mistakes within the Authoring API: SchedAuth.Schedule property
- KB000366 - Hotfix: Actioning a K2 Worklist item after a Release method call does not set the SlotID correctly in the K2 Server Log SQL database
- KB000367 - Hotfix: Preceding rule does not resolve as expected
- KB000368 - Hotfix: Hotfix: When there are eight or more Events within an Activity the Events do not start sequentially
Installation
K2 blackpearl 0807 Update (4.8210.2.370) is available as an independent installation package which can be found here: http://portal.k2workflow.com/downloads/bp/default.aspx.
The K2 blackpearl 0807 Update (4.8210.2.370) installation package must be installed by running the K2 Update Manager (K2Setup.exe) found within the update package.

 | Note: This update package should be installed on all machines that have one or more of the following components installed: K2 Server, K2 Designer for Visual Studio, K2 Designer for Visio, K2 for SharePoint, K2 for Reporting Services , and K2 Workspace. This update should be installed on machines running K2 blackpearl 0807 4.8210.1.x or 4.8210.2.0. |
To install this package, follow the steps below:
- Welcome Screen
The Welcome Screen introduces the K2 blackpearl Update Manager. An installation log will be created by default. Click Next to continue.
- Components to Update
The Components to Update page lists the K2 Components that the update manager will update. Click Update to continue.
- K2 blackpearl Server
The K2 blackpearl Server must be stopped for the duration of the patch. If the server is running a warning screen will appear requesting that the K2 blackpearl server be stopped.
- Reset IIS
The K2 blackpearl Update Manager will request and perform a reset of IIS.
- Ready
The K2 blackpearl Update Manager will install the update, and will show the progress of the update via the progress bars on the screen.
- Finished
Once the update has completed installing, the wizard will show you the finished screen. A link to the log file that is created is available on this screen. Click Finish to close the installer.
After the K2 blackpearl Update Manager finishes, the K2 Configuration Manager will run.
Confirm Installation
To ensure that K2 blackpearl 0807 Update (4.8210.2.370) has installed correctly, follow these steps:
- Open Add/Remove Programs
- Check "Show updates"
- The installed K2 components and the relevant version number will be displayed

K2 blackpearl 0807 Update (4.8210.2.370) will update and configure the following components:
- K2 Configuration Manager
- K2 blackpearl Server
- K2 for SharePoint (MOSS and WSS)
- K2 Designer for Visual Studio
- K2 Designer for Visio

- K2 for Reporting Services
