Hello,

We have received an inquiry about connecting an on premises (UiPath Orchestrator) to K2 Cloud using a TLS API call over the internet.

1. Is this possible?

2. What are the security risks involved?

We have shared the KB article on connecting on prem to cloud with them but they are looking for an answer on why this would not work or not be as secure as the other methods.  https://help.k2.com/kb002939

We want to be clear in our response if this is possible and about the risks (if any) are involved in using this approach.

Thanks smart people

Hello Jimmy,

If your service is being exposed to the Internet using something like REST then there is not a need to use SDA. In fact, this will probably be the easiest way to do this.

SDA is nice as it acts as a go between with your server and the K2 Cloud server. Any calls go to the SDA server, not to your server, then processed and sent over to your server securely. It is a great way to ensure security with K2 Cloud.
