This article was created in response to a support issue logged with K2. The content may include typographical errors and may be revised at any time without notice. This article is not considered official documentation for K2 software and is provided "as is" with no warranties.

Issue

After an upgrade to K2 Five, Admins and users are unable to release worklist items if the Task is assigned to a Role. Worklist items get stuck in an Open state and are unable to be opened by any users. This only affects K2 Studio Workflows.

Symptoms

The issue is due to a change made in how Roles and Destination Planning are assigned. The Destination Planning can still be configured to allow for tasks to be assigned to a Role and allow only one slot that will be allocated when a user opens it.

Resolution

Make sure that you are running the Destination Rule wizard in Advanced Mode. Edit the Destination Planning for the step in the K2 Studio Workflow as follows:

- Plan just once

- 1 Slot

- Resolve all roles to users.
