Look up is not working on single line of textboxes

when i am trying to set some value to the singl line of text control using lookup ..its not working.. 

any help would be great.

    You can maybe try to put the lookup function in the default value box.

    OR

    You can do the lookup using a form variable, and put the form variable in the text box control default value box.
