I'm fairly new to Nintex and i need help with hiding a section of my form when the form is in new mode.

I'm not sure how to do this and all the information I have found the screen shots do not look like my current Nintex. Should it be a Rule or a Variable?

Here is the section of my form i want to hide.

I assume you are using the New Responsive Designer in Nintex Forms for Office 365.

If the fields in your first image are inside a Group control, then it is best to use a rule to hide the entire group when the form is in New Mode. Follow the steps below to hide the whole group control when the form is in new mode (and show it when the form is in edit or display mode):

  1. Go to the Rules tab and create a new rule.
  2. Configure the rule with these settings (image below):
    1. Name = Hide Approver Details Group
    2. For the If, click on the blue Insert tab, select "Form mode" on the left menu, and insert the "Is New mode" option. Then select the "Is Yes" option from the second dropdown.
    3. Configure the Then option by selecting the name of your Group control, select "Visible" in the second dropdown, and "No" in the third dropdown.
    4. Add an Else option. Configure it by selecting the name of your Group control, select "Visible" in the second dropdown, and "Yes" in the third dropdown.
    5. Click the "Create rule" button to save and enable the rule.
  3. Go to the Preview tab to test out the rule. Change the "Preview as" option to change the mode and verify that the group control is shown/hidden.
