Error in ULS Logs: Failed checking SetVariableActivity, moving on anyway.

The Nintex workflow did not fail, but I am seeing multiple instances of an error/Exception in our ULS logs for the following error:  "Failed checking SetVariableActivity, moving on anyway.".
