Currently I have a workflow that parses an XML file and then creates a new list item. The XML data is from a form that is a reservation system for devices in our inventory. Sometimes one device can be marked active and upcoming based on the dates provide by requestors.
How would I go about displaying in a new column called status a Green Image for Active and Yellow for Upcoming? I would like this to dynamically update based on the dates provided.
So for example a reservation date of 08/06/2014 - 08/09/2014 is displayed in green (Active) for 0001. Then another reservation for the same device with the dates of 08/10/2014 08/15/2014 is displayed in yellow (upcoming). Once the green reservation end date is passed it will be removed from the list since it will be deemed in active and the upcoming will change to green.
|Start date||End Date||Status||Device|
I hope this makes sense and is feasible.

We are trying to do something similar, the easiest solution we came up with is to run a site workflow daily that updates a Multiple line of text column (html enabled) and updates the html content to point to different image icon. i.e. something like: <img width="200px" height="100px" src="/training/jan/Shared%20Documents/IMG_9359.JPG" alt=""/>
This will be rendered in the list view as an image. In your case you may want to create 2 new multiple lines of text (html) for Start and End dates and put styling on a p tag based on the Start and End date.
This sounds more like a SharePoint question than a Nintex question. You can use a calculated column with html to display a stop light indicator. There are a number of blog posts on the net on how to do this. Here are a couple.
I was able to get this to work using a set condition action, then I added an update item action afterwards that places a HTML as mentioned above to display an image. then I utilize a DVWP to display the selected information and formatted with XSLT
Thanks for the idea Jan
