Happy New Year Skuid Community,
We want to alert you to two changes with your Salesforce environment that affect your Skuid experience and provide recommendations we have to address these impacts.
Change #1: Lightning Component Change
Salesforce has made a change to the way Lightning Components are validated as explained in this knowledge article. This change prevents a successful upgrade of Skuid when trying to upgrade from older versions of Skuid for Salesforce (older than 11.1) to the current supported versions (Millau 11.2.X and Spark 12.2.X) as noted in this community post.
When is this change happening?
Salesforce is requiring compliance with these changes in Salesforce’s Spring ‘20 release which hits sandboxes the weekend of January 3, 2020. (allow time for proper testing)
What do I need to do?
If your company’s production instance is running an older, unsupported version of Skuid for Salesforce (older than 11.1), you need to take action by upgrading your Skuid version to the current supported version (Millau 11.2.X and Spark 12.2.X)

Change #2: 2 Salesforce Critical Updates that Restrict Access to @AuraEnabled Apex Methods
Salesforce will be making a change to the way access to “AuraEnabled” Apex classes is controlled as explained in this critical update and this critical update. The Skuid product engineers have taken Salesforce’s changes into account and made modifications in the Skuid product, which can be found in the latest releases of Skuid (11.2.28 or 12.2.9 and beyond).
This change can potentially impact ANY user of Skuid accessing their Skuid pages in Lightning, in the Salesforce mobile app, or accessing Lightning components from within Salesforce Classic.
When is this change happening?
Salesforce is auto activating this critical update in all orgs starting February 2020.
What do I need to do?
To avoid the impact of these changes, you will need to do both of the following:
1. Upgrade & Test: Prior to January 3rd - Please upgrade your production org’s Skuid version to the latest release of Skuid (11.2.28 or 12.2.9 or subsequent releases) from the Skuid releases page. We recommend upgrading to 12.2.9 which is available now; however 11.2.28 also will address the issue and will be available by November 22, 2019.
NOTE: Please ensure adequate time to thoroughly UAT test all mission critical functionality in a non-business critical SANDBOX environment before upgrading your production environment as Salesforce does NOT allow reverting back to prior versions of managed packages.
2. We also recommend that you update out of date themes after you upgrade.
3. Validate/Assign Permissions - Ensure that each Skuid user is assigned at least 1 of the following Skuid permission sets:
a. Skuid Page Builder
b. Skuid Page Viewer
