I am also interested in doing this myself. SF is producing a lot of new components (some of which are pretty nifty like the enhanced notes) and it would be nice to be able to drag and drop those components into a SKUID page.

My guess is the plans to include Lighting Components in SKUID got seriously derailed around the time they announced the LockerService.

Having access to entire ecosystem of third party components within SKUID would be very nice indeed and I hope this is still on the drawing board.
