Hi,

I am a Promaster and I get this error when attempting to reattach a document to a process. Document was initially deleted from process as an updated version of same document was needed. Newer version replaced old via the edit document option under ‘Replace with new version’ in the Document tab menu. Neither the Attach Existing Document option finds the existing document in document library, nor the Upload New Document option allows you to do so because it is already an existing document in the system.

Couldn’t find this issue being posted before.

Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Regards,

Ulises

Hello @Ulises - Are you able to find the document if you navigate through the Document Library when you search for it?

Hi Evgenio,

Thanks for your response.

Yes, I can find the document through the document library when I search for it. However, it is not found from the Attach/Upload/Link window.

Please advise on a possible solution to this. Thank you.

Regards,

Ulises

I was unable to recreate it based on the steps you mentioned above. Only possible workarounds I can think of:

  • You can try publishing the process without the document and see if editing the newly published version allows you to reattach the document.
  • Upload the document again under a new name, attach that and delete the old one.

Assuming that the above are not possible for any internal reasons I would suggest raising this with support@nintex.com for the engineers to take a closer look.

Hi EvgeniosE,

Thanks for the suggestion.

Prior to reading your message I tried your option # 2 and it only worked after I archived and replaced document. Only then the system made the document available under the ‘attach existing document’ option. Overall, the search functionality in Promapp could be greatly improved. I often search several times to be able to get results for users, documents or processes I know are there in the system.

I already raise this situation with Nintex support. thank you.
