Recipients on Send Email or Task step not shown up

After upgrading to version 5.7, the recipients on Send Email and Task will not show up in Workflow Designer.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a new workflow in Designer
  2. Add a Send Email or Task step.
  3. Change the Recipient field to “Type/Construct my own”
  4. Drag and drop a variable or smart object field into Recipient
  5. Click anywhere on white space
  6. Reopen the Send Email or Task step to check the Recipient field

We have tested in some scenarios. The Recipient field may only show up when it is typed manually.

Hi mancheung,

This might be a known issue, I would suggest logging a support case.

I’m assuming this is your repro steps:

-Create a new workflow or open an existing workflow containing a Task step
-go to the Recipients tab, then change 'Originator' to any context browser variable (for example Workflow -> Task User -> Email)
-click to another tab such as 'Task', then click back to the Recipients and notice that the reference is broken
-The issue occurs with both Chrome and Edge
