NWC Branch by Stage Infinite Loops

When does the Branch by Stage break out of a infinite loop?

Where can I get more technical details about this?

I have the following Branch by Stage. There is no Exit from the Branch by Stage.

Branch 2 -> Branch 3 -> Branch 2 -> Branch 3 (Infinite Loop)

Yet the Branch by State somehow exits and the Log to Instance action is executed.

I wouldn't have thought it would apply to a branch by stage action, but maybe it's hitting the loop limit of 1000?

So the Infinite in infinite loops just means 1,000 haha!
