Filling a large form can be time consuming and it may not be possible to fill out the form in one sitting. By utilizing the new Save and Continue feature available for authenticated Start forms, participants are now able to save the progress and resume it later without the need to start over.

It is super easy to enable Save for a form. All you have to do to is navigate to the Action panel in the forms designer and enable the Save button as shown in the image below.

When the workflow is published, participants will have the option to fill in part of the form and save and come back to continue from where they stopped at a later time.

To return to the saved draft form, navigate to the Forms section under My Nintex where all the draft forms will be listed, open the draft form and continue.

A couple of important notes:

  • Any published changes made to the form will automatically update all draft forms. The data that has been entered and saved in the draft form will be retained if the control still exists.
  • Drafts will not be accessible if a workflow has been removed or paused.
  • Draft forms expire after 30 days from the date they are saved.
  • Save and Continue for unauthenticated forms is currently not supported.

We hope you enjoy this new feature and if you have any feedback, feel free to raise your suggestions in Nintex User Voice.

Are there any plans for Save and Continue for unauthenticated forms to be implemented and could you please provide an ETA?

We have plans for Save and Continue for unauthenticated forms in future but no ETA at this stage.

Hi,

Would it be possible to have the option for a link to the saved form emailed to the submitter? In our organisation although all our forms are accessed as authenticated, they do not typically access the myNintex feature due to permissions and other restrictions. As such it would be fantastic to have the option to email them a link.

I believe that this may have previously been an option but doesn't seem to be the case currently.

Cheers

For unauthenticated forms you can design this same functionality yourself as explained here:

What is an authenticated form? How do I know if mine is authenticated?

Hi all,

I have a question about access to draft forms in My Nintex.

When person A in our organization saves a draft, we want to be able to share access to the draft form with person B case of illness/absence. Otherwise we will face production delays.

Does anyone know if how we can make this work?

The option in the link above does not bypass form validation, which is something we need to have in our forms.

Thank you.

When the form is created you can select from Authenticated users in this tenant or Anyone with the form URL

To see which was selected on the start form, you can open the workflow click on the Start event:Form and you will see which one was selected.
