Nintex Community Menu Bar

We're updating the look and feel of Promapp to align with the overall Nintex platform. We'll be making a few functionality changes and refreshing our fonts, colours, and icons to make them more accessible. You will be able to switch back to the classic theme until June, after which the new theme will become permanent. This option is available at an individual user level. For existing minimode links the new theme will be displayed.

Functionality changes

We'll be removing several components on the homepage:

  • The 'Love it / It's OK / Not great' feedback functionality will be removed.
    • Users can provide feature requests and ideas via a link to UserVoice.
    • Methodology questions, solutions, and knowledge can be shared via Nintex Community
    • Users will receive an occasional prompt for feedback via an NPS question, with the option to provide additional feedback afterwards.
  • The Awesomeness meter will be removed.
  • The Bulletin board and messages will be removed.
  • Profile information and the Governance Dashboard will be removed as these are duplicate components available elsewhere on the site.

Process Map

  • Customisable map colours  will no longer be available.

To learn more about why we're making these changes and understand our overall unification strategy, you can read this blog from our VP of Product and Experience, Zoe Clelland.

Hi @KerryHiki

Does the new theme, fonts, colours impact the Risk Module (and for that matter the other modules) in Promapp?

Thanks for the question @GaryTibble,

Yes, the new icons, fonts, and colours also apply to Promapp add ons. All functionality remains the same in these areas, and the look and feel will be consistent with the core process functionality.

Hi,

Can you advise the date these changes will happen and also confirm that they will be automatic.

cheers

Pam

Hi @KerryHiki,

Will there be an outage whilst this change occurs? If there will be, how do we find out the timing of this outage as we are a 24/7 operation and need to advise impacted staff?

Thanks

Helen

Hi @pamelal,

The changes will be this Friday at the latest (NZST) and they will be automatic.

Hi @HelenS,

There will be no outage, and no impact to users and access.

Thanks,

Kerry

Hi - I use this video (a LOT) for training in my organisation:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEj3-1zpSFc

Will it be updated/replaced?

There were some new videos created a couple years ago but none showed the basics of navigation, search, basics of a process, etc. as well as this one. So, I continued using this even though some UI and functionality had changed. If my users use the new theme, this video doesn't really work at all since it looks so different. It would be awesome to have a new, updated video.

Not loving the new look 😞

I like the new look. Very clean. Also now I don't need to explain why, as a Promaster, I wasn't totally awesome. 😁

Hi Kerry,

With the update, the ability to pin an activity box so it remains open as you move around the screen has been removed. Is this functionality going to be returned please? I use this all the time as I need to refer back to the activity details as I'm responding to an email/feedback etc.

Many thanks,

Zöe

Text wrapping in process group name boxes is weird. It works well in old style. Will this be fixed?

I had a couple comments from users - including one in who is an internal UI/UX expert: the new style is definitely more aligned to Nintex brand but in saying that, it feels "more corporate" and "less friendly" and it is harder to distinguish at a glance an activity from a linked process (old style with the blue bar across activity box is preferred).

Linked processes versus activities - clearer in this style:

Than this:

- according to my users... I tend to agree 🙂

Will the support videos (for example the ones found on the dashboard) or any other materials be updated (for example the hands-on training exercise map)?

If there were an "opt-out of changes" I believe our instance would have taken advantage of that.

Separately, I used to tell folks to "select the blue text" when they add owners/experts because the "black text" was usually generated by their browser.  The new format has already caused users additional confusion since the formatting is indistinguishable from the browser text.  Please share any thoughts about how to address this error.  Perhaps the red error message can say more than "owner is required"?  In the example below, an owner is clearly identified and not topographically incorrect, it simply is not the data pulled from the tool.

Don't like the new look 😑, it's like it has been downgraded from 3D to 2D. It's a lot less vivid. It's all flat and more difficult to use now.

I no longer see my @todo list on my dashboard on the home screen. Is there a limit of 8 items for this display - example below of new home page and old style. It appears that items are showing when there is no notification - e.g. incident / event and feedback. Can you please advise?

Hi

I've not had a response to my comment from a couple of weeks ago. Can you please advise:

Cheers and thanks

Reduced functionality - navigating through the group hierarchy in the Processes pages.

I'm hoping this was not an intentional result of the re-branding. It is slowing me down in navigating through process groups.

Previously, at the top of the process group navigation pane would show the higher level process group, and you could easily and quickly navigate upwards through the hierarchy.

Now, only the current process group name appears and it's only possible to move back one process group at a time.

In the graphic below, the highlighted Leasing Services heading previously would have been for Finance Services and was clickable. Now it's not clickable and seems to be simply a duplication of the current process group name, and it appears to have no purpose.

I much preferred the previous functionality and would like to see it returned.

Thanks.

It is so funny to see the 'new' format looking nearly exactly like the original legacy Promapp format from 10 years ago.

I much prefer the light blue over the 'new' theme. The light blue theme is much easier to identify processes and documents and looks nicer also.

I think we should be able to choose which theme and keep it if we want to continue with the original, any chance that could happen Kerry? @KerryHiki
