Date Format for Report Date From Salesforce into Excel

Is there a way to format a date field that is coming from a report in Salesforce and being merged into Excel?  Currently when I merge the report into Excel the date field is changed to Text in Excel and I must manually change it back to a date.

Hey Justin,

I would recommend putting in a dummy date into the cell. We'll over ride that date when the data is merged in and the formatting will persist.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,

Ryan

‌ - is this question Nintex related? I find here no remark, that you are generating the report from Nintex variables or that Nintex is used to pre-process the data... Haven't you post this question here by mistake?

Tomasz

now that is a different story. Moderator approved

I haven't been testing Excel generations, but isn't it the case, when at point where you set up your template, you set proper formatting to the column in which you expect to have "date" then?

Tomasz

I set the format to Date in the template but it gets overridden when the file is created.
