Problems creating SharePoint List Items where the List has drop-down fields

I just semi-proved this to myself while playing with a simple K2 blackpoint process.If I use the "SharePoint List Items" event to create an item on a SharePoint list, that has plain text fields, it works.If I use the same data to create an item on a SharePoint list that has drop-down fields in it, it falls over. Get GUID of current User???

Hi, I am passing the User ID of the logged in persons UserID (AD Account) to a web service to return the GUID of the user.This process is taking too long and i get the K2 error "The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:00:59.xxxxxx. Increase the timeout value passed to the call.....". Occasionaly it works and i don't get this error, but it is slow. Instead of using a web service to do this, can i use K2 itself to get the GUID of the current user? If so, this would speed up things. Can anyone show me how to get the GUID of the current user using k2? Thanks

Is it possible to Include the ViewFlow within a Tab in a View ?

I wonder if would be possible to include the ViewFlow [ Chart ] directly within a Tab of a particular Item. this way when the Item is open on of the tabs will be able to show the current flow. or summary of the next steps that is waiting for. Yes I know if I deploy this within a list in Sharepoint and include the Sharepoint Workflow Webpart can have access to the view Flow, I was just wondering if that would be something that could be included natively within Designer directly into the record. THX Dino.

Multiple Smart Objects in one Form - how to save

Hi everybody. It might be a stupid question, but I'm stuck with a problem. I'm currently creating an onboarding-process where we combine different smartobjects (views) in one form to record new employees. If I want to save the recorded informartion in all smartobjects I save all smartobjects seperately - but this is really annoying. Is there an other possibility? Or what's best practice? Thank you

Can I customize the look and feel of the K2.net Workspace?

Yes, the look and feel of the K2.net Workspace can be changed by simply changing the stylesheets (.css files) of the Workspace. The MainStyles.css contains most of the settings. To add pictures, logo's etc, just edit the .aspx pages. All of the above can be found in the C:Program FilesK2.net 2003K2WS and subsequent folders.

Deploy Question to Production server - About Smartforms Designer and Application link

we are ready to deploy our first smartforms application and we recently deploy to QA server(development server) for testing and have a few questions 1. we cannot generate link to view application, so in QA server we login to designer, get runtime URL from one of the forms and we can see our Application (with few small issues like Authorization error etc etc. that we are working on) 2. do we need to follow same procedure in Production server, we get runtime URL from one of forms in designer? or is there any other way to get the link? so its necessary to deploy smartforms designer to production server? 3. we want to protect Designer to be able to View in production server, we don't want user to access, and change anything in views/forms/smo's which will directly effect our application can you guide me bit on this.

Custom Reports available in Designer

Hello, I've created a custom report in Workspace Report Designer, but I don't know if is possible to use it in smartform, I only have default controls like: "Workflow Duration Chart". I saw demos where reports made with Reporting Services was embebed in forms, so I assume that theres is a way to do it. Regards.

SmartForms Picture Control

Hi! I've one question. We are sometimes using the Picture control (like in this post http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/K2smartforms/UserGuide/1.0.7/default.htm#SF_-_ViewControls_-_Picture.html#Properties)Where are pictures stored which are added with the source button?I searched the K2 Smartforms folders on the server but i can't find my pictures there. Regards Michael

Copying email event removes HTML template

Hi all,I have created an HTML email template which I imported in an email event. I then added all the dynamic fields to it. When I tried to reuse this email event by copying it to another activity it lost all HTML elements and only the dynamic fields remained. I tried that a couple of times and the result was the same. Is there any other way of reusing email events?

"ASP.NET Framework Access denied" error

An "ASP.NET Framework Access denied" error is encountered when executing an ASP.NET page in K2.net Workspace. What could be the issue?Typically, this error will occur when a Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Server machine has been upgraded to a PDC, or when the default file level security has been modified by a user or software installed on the machine. When this error occurs, please note the folder in which the temp file is being created and change the security rights on the folder to allow IIS, the ASP.NET users, or everyone full access. ASP.NET uses temporary files when compiling ASP.NET pages during an IIS request. This is a common ASP.NET known issue in high security environments.There were also instances where the error was caused by the absence of ASP.NET 1.1 registration with IIS. SQL SmartObject - Key is a Required Field

I've been trying to create a SmartObject from a SQL table.  I understand the process using the service tester ... refreshing the SQL service instance and then selecting create SmartObject which works properly.  When I take a look at the resulting SMO the key field shows as an integer which is required.  Attempting to use this SMO in SmartForm to create a record fails on the primary key which makes sense because I'm not specifying what the value should be and it's required. I compared against other existing SMO's in my environment and they show the PK field as Autonumber and not required.  I found that I could set the options on the PK in the SmartObject to Autonumber using the designer or studio but I'm unable to remove the REQUIRED.  I must be missing something. SQL Table - Simple testing table with two fields:CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Test_J2](    [test2_id] [bigint] NOT NULL,    [Name] [nvarchar](50) NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_Test_J2] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED(    [test2_id] ASC)WITH (PAD_INDEX =

How to create a workflow to loop trough items from a Smart Object and send emails...

I want to have a workflow that once is started, goes to a specific SmartObject/Form and loop trough all the items, depending on certain conditions like to send some email reminder if the relevant data is due date, or assigned to, or other value within the SMO. So to get things tested I figure to create a User/Role SMO for my application, and want to have a Workflow to email the users if they are Admin within that object. I create a simple View/Form to add fields to the Smart Object and looks like this:   Now the question is .... here how can I pass this into a Workflow something like Loop Trough a SMO. in oder to see if the use is Admin then send an email to find out how many Admin's for the Application exist and have that schedule in a monthly basis, this way for Audit/Compliance Purposes the security Admins of a particular application are being reviewed and some action take place ? Thank you in Advance for the suggestions.

What is necesary to pass Variables from a View/Form to a Workflow ?

I try to build a simple email form that just enter a subject and body and send some email. Once the form is sent, there is no storage, smart objects or nothing is just a simple post.... The workflow on submit gets triggerred, the problem is that I don't have access to the variables part of the original form. I noticed under "Context Browser" => "Item References" my form variables are not available. This is the View...    This is the workflow Email:  However when I made reference to the variable seems like got lost within the process...  But still when the Workflow is save and deployed, the Form run in runtime I received an email but is empty, seems like lost the variables somewhere in the way... I wonder if is absolutely necesary to create some Runtime SmartObject to allocate temporarly those values entered in the form, pass to the workflow then destroy the object... or what is the recomendation to pass variables from a View/Form to a Workflow ??? Found this post where they use the

We have a client that would like to email contractors.   These contractors have been added into AD as "Contacts" and aren't fully fledged accounts.  Will they show up in the people picker via SmartForms?

K2 and Sharepoint Servers

Hello to everyone I have 2 machines Mac 1 and Mac 2.I have Sharepoint installed in Mac 1 and K2 in Mac 2. I want to install K2 for Sharepoint in Mac 1. Is  it mandatory to install Smartforms and Smartforms Control Pack also in Mac 1 or can it be installed in Mac 2. If installed in Mac 2, how will K2 for Sharepoint refer both components from Mac 1. I understand that while installing K2 for Sharepoint , we have to specify an URL . I guess it's the URL for K2 Server . Appreciate your response. Thanks and Regards,Satya

After deployment unable to change the SharePoint site URL for K2 Studio Workflow

I have created a K2 workflow for SharePoint 2013 document library. I used “SharePoint 2013 – Document Events” like ‘Get Document Reference’ and ‘update Document Properties’ where I used the dev site address for the document library. Now I want to move the same workflow on test site but I am unable to find the way to add test SharePoint site address instead of dev site for the document library. When I click to open the default wizard, the site collection drop down I can only have the dev site url. I also created a new environment variable for test site but unable to drag this environment in to site collection dropdown for event. Image is attached

Create Button Does Nothing in Studio

Hi  I wanted to see how common a problem this is. When I run K2 Studio on a desktop other than the server, I start the New process wizard and when I press Create, but it does nothing. I was on the phone with tech support and they said this was a known bug and would eventually be solved. I just need to find out how common this is. I haven't even been able to install Studio on my home PC connected to the VPN. Installing Blackpoint andgetting it running has been one headache after another and this isn't helping.
