Installing K2 connect on a clean K2 Five environment failed

I want to install K2 connect on a clean K2 Five environment but failed. It prompt me that Required product not found:-K2 blackpearl for Visual Studio. Please see the attachment. Do I need to install k2 blackpearl 4.7 first? Or who can tell me where I can get the needed components. Thanks very much.

Process instance error alerting/monitoring in K2Five

Hello all, I'm looking into solutions for monitoring and alerting for processes when they go into an error state in K2Five. My team wants to know immediately when certain critical processes fail. In 4.7 it was possible to implement some custom code to send an email / post to a restful service / etc when creating the workflow via visual studio. This is no longer an option in K2Five, as the visual studio component has been deprecated for new workflows. Does anyone have any thoughts on what potential options there are for this in K2Five? It seems that in the new workflow designer your only option is to toggle exception logging. Would appreciate if anyone can share knowledge about forthcoming functionality on this front. In my searching I've found the K2 Process Error Notification Service (K2 PENS) which is a windows service that monitors processes. The current version is somewhat old and unsure if it will work with K2Five, although I will be attempting some tests with it. On a side note,

Authorizing AJAX requests against K2 REST Api

Hello, We are trying to access SmartObjects through an external WebApp. Let's say i have a SmartObject against the Active Directory, and now want to get all users and display them on a site hosted somewhere other than the K2 Server. So I configured the K2HostServer.exe.config to enable REST Endpoints. For varifacation i check the endpoints URL to get a list of all the available endpoints.http://[server]:[port]/SmartObjectServices/endpoints/endpoints.xml As Expected I find an entry for the GetList Method on the AD SmartObject.If i now type in that URL in a browser at a clients machine, i do get a list of all users indeed. However, if i try to send an AJAX request from our WebApp i get a 401 Unautorized. How can i send authorization detail within the request?Also if i try to open that URL from the K2 server itself, (logged in as a K2 admin account) i get prompted to enter my login Info. Where are the Smarter Starters in K2 Five...

I always believe that good programmers wirte code, but Excellent programmers fix code. So I was wondering where are the smarter starters in k2 Five... I believe we all are eager to see the new options at our fingertips to see those dynamic controls moving forward, progress bars dinamically moving and displaying the progress of our Views... the fade in, fade out effects presneting our views when a Navigation or Subnavigations is clicked. Ability to take en-rich our Forms with MD5 Functions or some other crypto or 3D Barcorde functions, but we will lear much faster if we see the original Smarter Starters see all the bells & wisthles and move from there instead of trying to start from scratch based in our experience with BlackPearl. And yes... the smarter starters should not rely on SmartBox, they should have the ability to let us choose our prefered Data Soure like SQL or Sharepoint. Dino.

Allow access to System Folder in designer

Hi, We are working with K2 Five with different users. As we are using the new Workspace we need access to System Folder to allow publishing of pages but in designer this sections only appears for K2 Installation account. How we can share access to this folder with a base user with permisions to Designer? Also we are trying to limit acces to K2 Designer, we created a role to allow access but if we Deny access to "Everyone" group, the access is denied for everyone and if we break inheritance and only allow access to our custom role everyone can access to designer. Thanks!

How do I get a Read method for an SQL view?

I have a smart object that uses a SQL Server Service Instance. When I point the Service Object Method source to a sql table, I have available to me Read, Update, List, and Create. But when I set it to a view, I only get List. But I really would like the Read method from a view, why is the read method not available for views? How can I make it available? Presently I found a workaround using rules to call the List method with a filter and pick the top result. But that doesn't seem like a "right" way to do this. Any ideas?

Package Deployment and Workflow Data

Hello, We want to have a test run with some of the processes we developed since we installed K2 recently. Lets say for that we deploy those processes to the test environment and let certain users work with it. When we later then deploy them to the production server, is it possible to transfer the generated workflow data (reporting data) with it? Regards,Nico

Move selected View list row to another View List

I have one scenario pls help me how to achieve that : I have 2 Grids 'Delete Roles' & 'Request for Delete' , if I select any row in Delete Role and click on delete then selected record should move to 'Request for Delete' grid and Vice Versa should also work means if user select any row in 'Request for Delete' and click delete it should move back to 'Delete Role' Grid. Kindly refer attached screenshot. Thanks

Release Task on K2 Five

Hello, We have a question about the task assignement on K2 Five and release option. We tried that if we select the option resolve group to individuals, a task assigned to a role is available for all users in the role. If a user opens the task other users can also open the task and it only disapears if one of them finishes the task. We tried to deselect this option, in this case if a user opens the task, the task disappears from other users inbox. Then we tried to release the task but this is only available for user ho has opened the task. Is there a way to force tasks to disapear from other users in a role if its open but to come back to their tasklist if it's released? Thanks in advance

Sending email to Multiple People Picker

Hi,  i'm using k2 five for sharepoint. In the form i have 5 people picker control which accept mulitple user.When creation workflow will trigger email to the users which is added in those 5 people picker control.  The issue is workflow getting completed only if all the 5 people picker control is filled. Incase anyone of the people picker is empty then the workflow goes to error state.

sharepoint site url in K2 Five : authentication failed

Hello All In K2 FIVE if i would like to find the site url.So in workflow i was trying to execute SITE smo and execute Get Site method and store output in a variable of text URL. Iam trying to pass the URL in email boddy but i get the error authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream when i run the instance after deploying Can someone help me here.ATTACHED IMG

Background Image

Hi to everyone on the K2 Community. i just started to play around with K2 smartforms (using K2 Five), and coming from a designer background i always like to spice the look and feel up a bit. i would like to accomplish 2 things  1. set the page background to an image2. set the form color to a 50% opacity  i have read through all the posts on the community pages, but cannot get my script to work loading the background image nor getting the opacity working. i know there is a way getting everything working as i saw a youtube video Igor Jercevich running something similar with a header image load runtime script.
