Stored Procedure Decimal Overflow

 Symptoms Stored Procedure Decimal Overflow Diagnoses We have a stored procedure that has been in production for quite a while.One column on the returned table is in Decimal(18,6).But recently, the smart object is encountering error of invalid data type.Please refer to the uploaded error message (Decimal_.JPG) and the stored procedure (SP2.JPG). Resolution A coldfix has been provided.

Sending email depending on preceding activity

 Symptoms I have a workflow in which an activity (Responsible Manager - Closure) can be accessed from 2 others activities (Customer - Closure and Project Controller - Delivery).At the moment the 'Assign Project or WR Code' event under the Responsible Manager - Closure activity has one specific email template that the Responsible Manager will always receive.What I would like to achieve is that, depending on the preceding activity, I would like the Responsible Manager to receive a different email.For example, if it's coming from the Project Controller I would like the email to say "Congratulations on the approval of your Work Request" while if it's coming from the Customer - Closure I want the email to say "The closure of your Work Request has been rejected by the customer".Is that achievable without having to create a brand new activity (like Responsible Manager - Resubmit Closure)? Diagnoses This is possible by using Data Fields to store the Line data surfaced through the Action.You ca

Sharegate interaction with Appit environment

 If you have used Sharegate to migrate from an on-premise install of SharePoint to SharePoint Online (through O365) and are receiving a 404 error when trying to render SmartForms in realtime, it is likely that the migration changed the naming conventions of certain K2 resources that are crucial to the operability of Appit within your SharePoint Online environment. Sharegate has a feature that will rename an existing folder, appending a value to the end (e.g. renaming 'K2Pages' folder to 'K2Pages1') and create a new folder with the same name.   To resolve this issue, the K2Pages folder must be renamed back to the correct value. This can be achieved easily through SharePoint Designer (a free download from Microsoft) by following these steps:   1. Navigate to any list on the site collection/subsite and open the LIST ribbon.2. Select 'Edit List' in the 'Customize List' section of the ribbon (This will open up SharePoint Designer. You must have SharePoint Designer installed for this to work

Problem trying to add custom service broker using service broker management tool

 Symptoms  When attempting to click on the "configure service" in the service broker management tool, the following error occurs:System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. HTTP Redirect in IIS not working

 Symptoms I have configured HTTPRedirect in IIS and set landing URL to be my tasks page URL when the user browses the root URL https://k2forms.denallix.com. But it always throws error401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. Diagnoses The HTTP Redirect may not be working because the top level site (that would usually be associated with the root URL "https://k2forms.denallix.com") does not have an Authentication Mode enabled. I believe, if you were to enable "Anonymous Authentication" on this top level site, then the IIS HTTP Redirect should work.Please also note that "HTTP Redirect" is an IIS Configuration/Behavior for any ASP.net web application I had come across this suggestion while searching Microsoft's IIS forum:https://forums.iis.net/t/1061576.aspx?401 2 Access Denied UnauthorizePerhaps they can provide you with more information/possible configurations. Resolut

 Symptoms Our dev/test license for two environments has expired. Please remind me how we can get new licenses generated. Diagnoses K2 Support will not be able to provide you with a License Key it will need to be requested from the Licensing Department as per the steps below:1. Reconfigure Production Sever Port 5554 and 5251 to 5555 and 5252

 Symptoms Attempting to reconfigure K2 to use default ports "5555" and "5252" but seeing warning:"Port 5555 cannot be used because it is already in use." Diagnoses Command Prompt:1. Use netstat to find PID using port 5555netstat -o -n -a | findstr "5555"2. Use tasklist to find what PID belongs to:tasklist | findstr "[PIDfromNetstatResult]" Resolution A third party backup service was using port 5555. Third party software was uninstalled will re-install it with a different port. K2 was configured to use default port 5555.

"Primary Group" in ADis unavailable when executing UMGroup > Find User Groups with ADFS

 Symptoms When executing the "Find User Groups" method on the "UMGroup" SMO and specifying the K2ADFS security label, it sees all groups except for the users "primary group" in AD. In this case the "domain users" group. Diagnoses This has been caught with the "Domain User" group, but after some investigation we found that it will happen with any group that has been makes as the user's "Primary Group" in AD. Example... If you set "Domain Admins" as the "Primary Group" in AD, "Domain Users" will be available, but "Domain Admins" will be missing. Resolution This has been diagnosed as a bug. We applied a cold-fix that LABS sent us on the environment and that fixed the issue. If you run into this problem, please contact K2 support for the fix.

Activity Instance Destination Issue

 Symptoms Activity Instance Destination Issue Diagnoses I am trying to retrieve the Activity Instance Destination ID from the Activity Instance Destination smartobject in order to create a serial number. To do this I basically search by Process Instance ID with the List method and select that it should only return the last item and return the Activity Instance Destination ID. However somehow it fails to retrieve the Activity Instance Destination ID and it returns 0.When I try to find the Activity Instance Destination ID via the SmartObjects - Services - Test then I get the result that I need. In the tester I use the exact same Process Instance ID as input. Note that retrying the process does not resolve the issue even though I can see the Activity Instance Destination ID in the tester.I even tried a simple process which basically sends me a notification with the Activity Instance Destination ID and I even typed in the Process Instance ID as a static value. However this simple test proc

SmartObjectException Error on initial access after K2 connect service restart

 Symptoms K2 connect SmOs return an error when executed for a first time after K2 connect service restart. Error message text:“Smart objectException.Message: Object '%object_name%.rem' has been disconnected or does not exist”Error is reproducible both when SmO is called from smartforms or SmartObjects Services Tester tool. Diagnoses This is known issue you may face when using K2 4.6.9. This issue normally appears if K2 Connect service has been restarted without restart of K2 host server service. This has been has been addressed in 4.6.10 as this version of K2 Connect includes SmartObject Memory enhancements on ConnectProvider and ConnectService, and further more in 4.6.11 there were added additional retries to avoid timeout issues on remoting. Resolution To resolve this issue upgrade to the latest version of K2 components or contact K2 support to obtain a coldfix to address this issue in K2 4.6.9.

Display Name and value of the email

 Symptoms  Display Name and value of the email  Diagnoses  Few emails notifications shows the displayname of the email for From address. Some other notififcations show actual value of the email.I noted that K2 client event notifications shows the displayname and K2 email event notifications shows the actual value of the emails.Can you please let me know as to how I can get Displayname for all emails?  Resolution This has been fixed in 4.6.10

K2 processes not progressing

 Symptoms K2 processes not progressing Diagnoses There are an increasing number of K2 processes sitting in a 'Running' status. The processes are not moving to the next workflow step after a user action. Resolution So here follows the steps we performed to recreate this error1. Create a process with a client2. Configure a process escalation to fire a Goto activity. (3 minutes was ample time. NOTE! The same happens with a Process email escalation.)3. Deploy4. Start and instance.5. Remove the process escalation configure in step 2.6. Deploy.7. Use Live Instance Management (LIM) to move the process to the new deployed version.8. IE Error: Multiple authentication attempts detected

 Symptoms When using IE All users are receiving the Multiple Authentication Attempts detected error. The error does not occur with browsers other than IE.The error is occurring on the server running IE11, it was previously receiving the same error running IE9 and updated to see if IE11 would address the issue.The SOE here is IE9, so other users are receiving the error from their desktops (windows 7). I am running IE11 on windows 10 and receiving the error too.Tried a number of tests, including running the site using the Intranet Zone config and Trusted Sites config on both my laptop and from the Server with no effect.There are no errors showing in the Event Log or in the K2 Host Server log. K2 Sql Server Instance only giving "List" as method for all tables

 Symptoms When creating an SQL based smartobject, only list methods are available. Diagnoses This is typically caused by a table not having a primary key set. It is important to note that a column with the "isIdentity" property does not qualify as a primary key. Resolution Upon inspecting the table schema, we found that while the isIdentity property was set, no primary key was defined. After altering the schema to add the primary key constraint for the column marked as isIdentity, and the issue was resolved.

Failing to start workflow triggered from Sharepoint List (Add/Update)

 Symptoms SharePoint 2013 Event receivers not working, workflows not triggered on item added and other start rules tied to SharePoint lists. Diagnoses This is typically either caused by a lack of start permissions (which will be apparent in the error logged in the K2 Hostserver logs), or some other issue communicating with the event receiver.K2 uses the SharePoint event receiver in order to trigger a web service call to the SP15EventService. If this call fails for any reason, the workflow will not be triggered. Resolution After enabling verbose ULS logging on the sharepoint server, It was determined that a certificate error between K2 and the SharePoint farm existed. Workspace Managment Console page not displaying Workflow Server node

 Symptoms When navigate to Management console, the workflow server node disappear in all client PC. However, it works find when launching K2 Workspace within the server itself. Diagnoses There isn't any errors from the client script execution or within HostServer logs. Resolution Apparently it's a posting issue with IE in non-NTLM authenticated website. HTTP 404 error on ViewFlow on client machines

 Symptoms HTTP 404 error when opening ViewFlow from the client machines Diagnoses We double-checked configuration by comparing it with the QA server where this is working and we found everything to be configured correctly.The following are places to look at:- Config files (workspace and viewflow)- SiteRealm in K2 designer under management category.- Environment Library fields Resolution The issue was resolved clearing browser cache and cookies on the client machine's IE.After this we noticed that "Process Overview" in workspace wasn't displaying any processes when clicked. This was resolved by adding workspace url to Compatibility View Settings in IE.

PDF convertor generates an empty form when multiple security providers configured

 Symptoms  In case multiple security providers/issuers configured Create PDF from URL method of PDF converter SMO produces an empty form.  Diagnoses  It is impossible to generate PDF from smartform URL when multiple security providers are enabled. This is caused by the login page, where it is necessary to select label, which is not something being done by the PDF Converter Service by default.As a workaround to this, it is possible to configure smartforms as anonymous but this is not always an acceptable solution.To address this in a long run there is an existing feature request to add an ability to set default label for PDF converter service.  Resolution Configure SmartForm(s) targeted by PDF converter with Anonymous Access advanced property enabled as a workaround to this issue. Task not being released for other users (when destination set to role or group)

 Symptoms  Suppose you have the following situation: There is a group approval task event in workflow with SharePoint group set as its destination. Initially this task is being displayed as “Available” to all users from the destination SharePoint group. Next, one of the group members opens this task – task becomes “Allocated” for all the other users within group (expected behavior) and “Open” for user who opened it. Next, this user tries to release this task and expected behavior is that all the other users should be able to see this task as “Available” again, but what actually happens is that task stays “Allocated” for all of the users apart from one who released it.  Diagnoses  There is a known issue with task slot recalculation when worklist-item release operation does not work with K2 role or group destination. Another symtom/problem you may see because of this is whenu you use K2 role as a destination for worklist-item you may notice that it is not possible to release this item fr
