So, this just happened to me.
+1 vote for theme versioning.

I actually was trying to correct an issue with my primary theme in that some fields were being aligned incorrectly. But when I modified something simple on my theme (text size), the entire thing changed. Definitely would have been useful to have some versioning I could revert to in order to being troubleshooting.
