That mentions nothing about using Google Fonts.  In fact, that help file you have suggested is extremely unintuative.

I was aslo able to track down some documentation from Google for pulling in their API. The use of Google API is not supported by K2 Support and unfortunately, I cannot take you through the whole process. The following links should push you in the right direction though.
