Issue Description

When you upgrade from K2 Five (5.6) with any Fix Pack installed to Nintex Automation K2 (5.8), an error warning will occur in the installer configuration analysis.

Error Message:

The following error occurs:

“Global.ShouldUpdate: Logged Warning: Could not determine if the installer will be running update manager: System.FormatException: Input string was not in a correct format.

   at System.Number.StringToNumber(String str, NumberStyles options, NumberBuffer& number, NumberFormatInfo info, Boolean parseDecimal)

   at System.Number.ParseInt32(String s, NumberStyles style, NumberFormatInfo info)

   at SourceCode.Install.K2Version.GetSegment(VersionSegment segment)

   at SourceCode.Install.K2Version.CompareTo(K2Version other)

   at SourceCode.Install.K2Version.op_GreaterThanOrEqual(K2Version left, K2Version right)

   at SourceCode.Install.VersionData.CanUpdate(Release targetedRelease, Boolean canRerun)

   at SourceCode.SetupManager.Global.ShouldUpdate()”

Resolution

The fix is available in:

  1. Ensure you have the correct K2 version and/or Cumulative update installed. See KB001893 to see what Fix Pack level you have installed.
  2. Download the latest Fix Pack using the links in the table above for the version you require.
  3. Install the Fix Pack to apply the fix.
  4. It is recommended to clear browser cache and refresh the page.
