Redirection and Escalations...

Hi,

 

I have a Client Activity where the Approver gets sent 3x (day1, day3 and day5) EVENT ESCALATION reminders to action the request.

 

If the Appover still doesn't approve the request, i can redirect the Activity to a different approver.

 

The new approver gets the Client Activity, however if they sit on the job, no EVENT ESCALTION reminders are sent, why is that?

 

If the Activity is redirected, shouldn't the reminders also start back up?

 

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, no, it doesn't restart the escalations because the start date of the activity is still the same so the timing on your rules has already passed. You have a couple of options here... you can add additional event escalation rules for the x days after the redirect or you can have the redirect instead go to a completely different Activity to represent the escalated task, and that activity would have its own escalations. Will either of those options work out for you?

That's a shame, it would mean more rules and processes.

Is there no way of using the Time that the job was redirected as a Start point for the reminders to the new destination user?

It would mean a load of work to setup another activity to do all the steps again.

if there was a way to capture the redirection time that would be better.
