Using the answer from the post above; if I have a process escaltion that uses a go to activity outcome, where does the line go?

I need this escaltion to kick in at the process level. For me this does not require a line because literally any activity could be hosting the workflow at the time of escaltion. In this instance do I just draw a line from "Start" activity or do I do a line from each activity to the failure activity? Thanks in advance

So while I am waiting for a suggestion I have put a line in from the end activity and amde an impossible suceeding rule which will never be met. At least the process compiles now and I can get on with the rest of it. Seems like a bit of bodge to setup what is effectivly a fake line, but I'm sure there are other ways of doing it.!! looking forward to more sensible suggestions!!!
