Hello All,

We are interested in setting up a server in our DMZ to allow the public to complete a form and start a workflow.

We have our system set up on a single server and previously started working on this.

We have openings in our firewall so that the server in the DMZ can communicate with the production server.

We started setting this server up with the help of K2, but we ran into licensing issues and this project fell by the wayside. Our licensing issues have been taken care of and we're back to getting this server up and running. But I can't find any documentation in getting this set up.

Does anyone have this configuration up and running? (Forms server/client in the DMZ and standard setup on the internal network)

I'm hoping to get some insights on what would be needed and what the process (high level) is to get this done.

Thank you,

tomas vera

Hi Tomasv,
Refer previous noted, You may do Reverse Proxy server.

Gareth,
Yes we did look at this as a possible solution (and we may end up going with this). But licensing limitations would force our public facing forms to be anonymous.

One goal of this entire project was to allow our users to be able to log in and track all their various form submissions/ applications. By putting a Forms server in the DMZ, we were hoping to use a different login / authentication scheme for the users and then have the Forms server connect to the main server using a single service account.

If we use a reverse proxy, we'd need to find a way for our external users to authenticate differently than our internal users. So that's another challenge that we will need to research.

But it's looking like a reverse proxy will be the solution for us.

Thank you,

Tomas
